General
An Exact Financials Enterprise patch (named ExactFinancialsEnterprise-<version>.exe) should always be installed on the server. The installer will guide you through the various steps of the installation.
Default install of Exact Financials Enterprise results in:
- the installation directory contains the following
- folders:
- 7.01.##
- cd
- lib
- log
- temp
- uninstall
- webclient
- key files:
- Exact Financials Enterprise.prowcapc
- exact financials enterprise.wcd
- exact.pro
- param.pf
- progress.ini
- the virtual directory used by the WebClient:
- is named ef70
- has the installation directory as local path
- the WebClient URL is composed as follows: http://<server>/<virtual directory>/webclient/bootstrap.htm.
Example:
- The Exact Financials Enterprise installation directory is: \\srv-007\c$\apps\exact\financials.
- In Internet Information Services (IIS), this directory is the local path of the virtual directory "ef70". To start the WebClient URL, follow the URL http://srv-007/ef70/webclient/bootstrap.htm. This results in "Exact Financials Enterprise.prowcapc" being served.
Patch Installer
- Select Destination Location: enter the installation directory.
- Select Components
- Enter Server Details
- Server Name: default current <computer name>
- Virtual Directory: default ef70
- NameServer Name: default NS1
- NameServer Port: default 5162
- Enter AppServer Details
- AppServer Name: default as70exact
- AppServer Port: default 37000
- Select Progress OpenEdge Installation Directory
- Ready to Install
- the WebClient Deployment Packager will be started
- Generate in order to update the "Exact Financials Enterprise.prowcapc".
Troubleshooting
- Following the WebClient URL: HTTP 404 - File not found instead of "Exact Financials Enterprise.prowcapc" being served.
- Is there a file named "Exact Financials Enterprise.prowcapc" in your Exact Financials installation directory?
- Is the bootstrap.htm referring to "Exact Financials Enterprise.prowcapc"?
- Is the reference to local path of the virtual directory correct?
